What we collect to run watches in Haiti, who sees an address, and what we will not do with it.

What we collect

We collect what the job requires:

  • Account. Your name and an email address or WhatsApp number. Sign-in is a one-time code sent there. There is no password.
  • Property. The address of the place being watched, access notes you give us, and a map pin if you set one. Addresses of empty houses are sensitive; we treat them that way.
  • Visit work. Photographs taken through the inspector app, plus the coordinates and time the device recorded at capture. Those are written server-side so an old camera-roll photo cannot be passed off as today’s.
  • Inspector identity. Photo ID and a selfie for vetting, and — if the inspector consents — a face enrolment used at check-in.
  • Billing. Charge amounts, visit descriptions, and payment references on our ledger. Card details, when that rail is live, go to Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Messages on a visit thread between owner and inspector.
  • Haiti waitlist. Name and contact if an area is not open yet.
  • New-territory list. Name, an email or WhatsApp number, the country you named, and a city or area if you gave one. Occupation, property count, and what you send someone today are optional. No account is created.

Countries we do not cover yet

The new-territory list is a separate record from the Haiti waitlist. Gade staff use it to see where demand is concentrating. It does not open Haitian areas. It is not a launch date. It is not sold. A city or area on that list is not the street address of a house.

Location

The street address of an unoccupied house is the most sensitive record in this product. Inspectors see an area label while they decide whether to take a job. The exact address, access notes, and precise GPS unlock for a short window before the visit, and only for the assigned inspector. After that window the pin re-locks.

Capture coordinates and timestamps are bound to each photograph so we can check the visit happened at the place, not so we can publish a map of empty houses. We do not sell location data. We do not use it for advertising.

Who sees what

You see your properties, reports, and the inspector’s name on a report. The assigned inspector sees what they need to do the job, under the unlock rules above. Gade staff see enough to review reports, pay inspectors, and handle problems. They also see new-territory names grouped by country. A verification visit is a second assigned job, with the same location rules.

Owner and inspector never see each other’s phone number on the thread. Payment, messaging, and storage partners see only what they need to process a charge, send a code, or hold a file.

Who we send data to

Depending on country and what is actually switched on, that can include Stripe, PayPal, Wise, Zelle, or MonCash for an owner paying a visit through a hosted link (we do not store a card), WhatsApp and email for one-time codes and notices, MonCash for Haitian inspector payouts where that rail is live, a recorded weekly bank file for any inspector who prefers a bank account, and object storage for photographs. Some of those still run as recording stubs until credentials exist. The data we keep is the same either way.

Cookies

A signed session cookie keeps you signed in. We do not run advertising or analytics pixels on the marketing site.

How long we keep it

Reports and the photographs that back them are the record you paid for. We keep them while the account is open so you can compare visits over time. If you close an account, write from the email or WhatsApp number on it and we will delete or anonymise what we no longer need for a completed payment or a dispute.

Inspectors can erase face enrolment from their profile. That takes them off the job board until they enrol again. We built deletion for that data because a retention policy that cannot actually delete a biometric is not a policy. When an inspector leaves Gade, the face enrolment is erased the same day; the photo ID, vetting selfie and credential scans are deleted 180 days later.

If you joined a waitlist or the new-territory list and do not have an account, write from the email or WhatsApp number you left. We will delete that row.

What we will not do

We will not sell your data, publish property addresses, or let inspectors keep a directory of empty houses after a job re-locks. This is a description of the product, not GDPR theatre: Gade has no separate legal entity listed here, no registration number, and no appointed privacy officer.

Changes

We will update this page when the product changes. The date at the top is the date that applies.

How to reach us

Write from the email or WhatsApp number on your account, or from the one you left on a waitlist form. There is no separate privacy inbox yet.
